Today I started my journey in wine appreciation.  I consciously tried to taste the wines I was drinking and started taking notes.  I hope this is a journey that would take me to many interesting destinations...
1993 Ducru-Beaucaillou - opened at home after dinner.  My first Ducru in quite a while.  Very soft and smooth tannins.  Finish a bit short.  With breathing the spicy aromas came out. Thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Bought from Watson's for HKD 475.
1995 Le Dauphin du Chateau Guiraud - my first experience with Sauternes.  Smell of acetone was strong, a bit unpleasant for the uninitiated.  Also smells of moss, pear, vanilla and oak.
Note to self:  always make sure you end with the best wine, not start with it!
