Santorini, Pax, and Foillard
Dinner at home.
2020 Sigalas Assyrtiko Santorini - very ripe. Acidity from the salad dressing made this taste really sweet. Very oily and smoky on the nose.
2005 Pax Syrah Alder Springs Vineyard The Terraces - drank 30 minutes after decanting. Pretty sweet on the nose, really woodsy and fragrant. Drinking very well, as expected.
2013 Jean Foillard Morgon Cuvée 3.14 - ripe with bacon fat and some toast on the nose. A little floral, too.

Mixed bag in the hood
Dinner at Neighborhood.
Oigame Gentei Fukurotori Daiginjo (老亀 限定袋取り 大吟醸) - seimaibuai (精米歩合) of 40%. Pretty sweet on the nose with tons of banana and fermented notes.
2011 Cedric Inflorescence Côte de Val Vilaine, dégorgée en avril 2013 - really toasty, almost coffee notes, rich nose with lots of depth.
2016 Cos d'Estournel Blanc - decanted for about 45 minutes before serving. Green apple, a little pipi de chat, nice and lean on the palate with good acidity.
2010 Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico Riserva - opened for 2 hours and decanted prior to serving. Smoky and minty.
2009 Sigalas Vinsanto - raisins, honey, honeydew melon, and some tangerine on the nose. Soooo viscous and soooo sweet on the palate.

Peyre Rose Oro and more
Dinner at Odette in Singapore.
Henri Giraud Fût de Chêne MV13 - nice and ripe, good depth on the palate, and almost a little bitter.
1999 Peyre Rose Oro - really huge and powerful nose, very toasty, almost coffee. There was sweetness underneath it all.
2018 Gerovassiliou Malagousia Single Vineyard - highly aromatic, almost citrus zest, with tropical stone fruits.
2014 Château de la Négly L'Ancely - very ripe.
2012 Marcel Deiss Gruenspiel - sweet on the palate, flinty on the nose. Taken with the Époisses, the flavors of mushrooms are magnified.

2006 Sigalas Santorini
2006 Sigalas Santorini - drank over dinner at Mandarin Grill + Bar. I had a chance to try this wine last year on a visit to Pierre, and I was sufficiently impressed. The nose packed quite a punch, full of toasty oak and minerals. The wine was full bodied, ripe and sweet on the palate, but there was also enough acidity on the finish - and it was a pretty long finish.

Two white wines at Pierre
2004 Sigalas Santorini - drunk at Pierre. With the taste of the scallops still on my tongue, a sip of the wine is first amazingly sweet on the palate (the wine is vinified dry) followed by a hint of bitter finish.
2003 Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet - absolutely beautiful...sweet, creamy butter mixed with toasty oak and minerals.
