This is still a work in progress as I upload tasting notes and wine labels from as far as 1999... Check back once in a while to get the updates.

1998 Musar

Dinner at Nine One.

Bonnet-Ponson Cuvée Perpétuelle Extra Brut - flinty notes on the nose. Palate was more on the lean side with hither acidity.

1998 Musar Rouge - the nose was very fragrant and definitely very savory like tapenade, also medicinal. After 25 years this was now very smooth and silky on the palate, and great for offsetting the tongue burning a little from spices.

GohGan bongwater

Dinner at GohGan in Fukuoka.

2013 Vodopivec Vitovska Origine - decanted for 3 hours prior to serving. Eventually opened up and showing nice toasty and coffee notes. After another hour in there was more sweetness on the nose with coconut notes.

2017 Fontedicto Promise - a little woodsy on the nose.

2020 Frédéric Cossard Skin-Contact "Rafling" - not bad at all! Some flint and lemon citrus. Some 3 hours later this was kinda floral and reminded me of Hoegaarden.

2018 Cható Pqta - fragrant and sweet nose with red fruits, light-bodied but slightly grippy. Also a little leather on the nose.

2021 Funky Château Funky Rouge - not too sweet, almost a tad savory.

2021 Noëlla Morantin Côt à Côt - a little funky, savory on the nose, almost like Pu'er tea or tea eggs, also game meats.

2020 Jean-Yves Péron Côtillon des Dames - very floral with some exotic spices.

Lucia and Les Terrasses

Drinking at a friend's home.

2009 Lucia, en magnum - served too warm, and seemed a little flat.

2005 Alvaro Palacios Les Terrasses, from magnum - served too warm, but tannins obviously still there.  Also more exotic spices in the nose.

1998 Musar

Drinks at Le Salon de The de Joël Robuchon.

1998 Musar Red - this was the last pour from a bottle opened a day ago.  Definitely over-oxidized, showing a little stewed prunes, sweet fruit, and acidity on the nose.  Some sweetness on the palate.

Wines for New Year's Day

Dinner at a friend's home.

2010 Anne Gros et Jean-Paul Tollot Minervois Les Carrétals - minty, peppery, potpourri, a little smoky.  Not too tannic but still pretty young, obviously.

2009 Torbreck Juveniles - very ripe and sweet, with leather and animal notes. Very sweet on the palate with noticeable tannins.  Not as classic Rhône as this wine was a decade ago.

2007 Merricks Estate Pinot Noir - sweet nose with cherries.

1995 Guigal Côte-Rôtie Brune et Blonde - nose of grilled meats, animal, a little stinky, but there's definitely the fragrance from the Viognier.

Les Terrasses and 70 La Lagune

Dinner at Fook Lam Moon.

2001 Alvario Palacios Les Terrasses from magnum - sweet on the palate and very forward.  Spices, woody, a little smoky, and a little potpourri in the nose.  Still got plenty of concentration but not tannic.

1970 La Lagune - ex-château stock purchased from Sotheby's.  Opened 30 minutes before decanting.  A little savory on the nose, a little smoky.  Initially the nose was a little muted, an opened up after 20 minutes after decanting.  Very smooth on the palate.  Towards the end showed minty nose with tea leaves.
