This is still a work in progress as I upload tasting notes and wine labels from as far as 1999... Check back once in a while to get the updates.

Krug and Wynns Reframe

Drinking at home after midnight.

Krug Grand Cuvée, ID 319028 (169ème Édition), en demi-bouteille - acidity was much higher than I had expected. Good marmalade notes on the nose with good ripeness, and certainly yeasty. Definitely more lean on the palate.

Dinner at Jeon Po Meat Shop.

2021 Wynns Coonawara Estate Reframed Shiraz x Riesling - very young so this was a bit on the tannic side for me. Notes of blackcurrants and blackberries, minerals, and not quite metallic, which could be coming from riesling.

1998 Petaluma

Dinner at Wolf.

1998 Petaluma Coonawarra - not bad. Still not completely like a typical Aussie.

Kistler and Parker

Dinner at Cine Citta.

Kistler Chardonnay Les Noisetieres - pretty good stuff for entry level. Crisp acidity, very refreshing.

1998 Parker Coonawarra Terra Rossa First Growth - pretty good stuff. Classic Aussie wine, showing a lot of ripe fruit. Pretty full-bodied as it is still pretty young.

Bought from Ponti.

1999 Greg Norman Cabernet Merlot

Dinner at home.

1999 Greg Norman Cabernet Merlot
- a little young but drinkable.  Full-bodied and tannins still strong.  Nose of caramel, sweet cassis.  Decent drinking wine for the price.

1998 Petaluma Coonawarra

Dinner at a friend's place.

1998 Petaluma Coonawarra - must say that I was disappointed. Very closed and not ready at all. Lots of earth, minerals, and smoke. I would have guessed it was a Bordeaux! A little sweet fruit emerged with time, but tannins were very heavy. Needs lots of cellaring to round out the edges.

Bought from Jebsen for HKD 298.

93 Ducru and Wynns

Dinner at Maman.

1993 Ducru-Beaucaillou - wonderful stuff! The wine was appreciated by all.

1995 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz - uninspiring but predictable. Typical Aussie shiraz.

1996 Lindemans Limestone Ridge

Dinner at Senso in Singapore.

1996 Lindemans Limestone Ridge - very nice.  Classic Limestone Ridge.  Notes of raspberry and cotton candy.  Sweet and typical of Aussie Shiraz.  I actually can tell this was a Limestone Ridge just by taste!

1994 Limestone Ridge

Drinks at brown 2.

1994 Lindemans Limestone Ridge - there were loads of sediment which unfortunately got into the glasses.  Still very fruity, much better than the last bottle.  Good concentration, spicy.

Bought from Watson's for HKD 336.

Millenium Party

Millenium Party at brown.

1996 Greg Norman Cabernet Merlot - great stuff!  This is a classic example of how the Cab blends well with Merlot, with Merlot adding sweetness and softening up the tannic Cabernet.  Wow!  No wonder critics like it.

Bought from DFS Singapore for SGD 35.

Tattinger "2000" en magnum - opened just before midnight.  It was a pretty good cuvée, and I got very drunk on it!

Bought from Ponti at the Tattinger tasting, with bottle signed by Pierre-Emmanuel Tattinger.

1994 Lindemans Limestone Ridge

1994 Lindemans Limestone Ridge - opened over dinner at brown.  Surprisingly diluted and thin when fist opened.  Very acidic with little body.  As it breathed there was more fullness, along with the typical spiciness and some sweetness.  Pretty disappointing.

1996 Katnook Merlot

1996 Katnook Merlot - drank at restaurant with a friend.  Smooth and fine tannins.  Spicy but needs lots of time to open.
