This is still a work in progress as I upload tasting notes and wine labels from as far as 1999... Check back once in a while to get the updates.

MNSC Burgundy Trip Day 5: des Lambrays

Visit to Domaine des Lambrays in Morey-Saint-Denis.  We were received by Managing Director Thierry Brouin, who has been with the estate since 1979.

2009 de Lambrays Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières - vanilla, toast, sweet, white flowers, minerals, ripe on the palate at first, then turned acidic.

2009 de Lambrays Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets - flinty, mineral, ripe, toasty oak and a bit of white flowers.

2009 de Lambrays Morey-Saint-Denis - really sweet, fruit-forward, a bit of herbs and forest. Lovely.

2009 de Lambrays Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Loups - riper fruit, sharper, a bit of turmeric, exotic Asian spices and cassis.  Tannic and grippy on the palate.

2009 de Lambrays Clos des Lambrays - more complex, fragrant, minty, potpourri and exotic spices.  Good balance.

2006 de Lambrays Clos des Lambrays - smoke, bacon, sweet fruit, ripe, black fruits like cassis.  Smooth on the palate with good acidity, but tannic finish.

1996 de Lambrays Clos des Lambrays - lots of smoked meats, leather, ripe fruit, a bit of prune, and slightly oxidized.

1991 de Lambrays Clos des Lambrays - very perfumed, floral, pretty sweet, black fruits, spices and herbs.  Clean and smooth with nice acidity.
