Visit to Domaine Marquis d'Angerville in Volnay.  We were received by Guillaume d'Angerville.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay - mint, fruit, fresh herbs and spices.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Pommard - more intense, sweet, with black cherries.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Fremiet - sweet, mineral, intense and a bit tannic.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles - sweeter fruit with some mint and spices.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets - dense, intense nose of pine needles, sweet, almost toffee-like.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds - minerals, a little closed initially but opened up to show more fruit.  Good acidity balance.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans - fruity, sweet, a bit of toffee and herbs.  Nice.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Ducs - wow! So open and fragrant!  Much more herbs and spices, potpourri, sweet and complex.  Good amount of tannins.

2009 Marquis d'Angerville Meursault 1er Cru Santenots - explosive nose of minerals and toast, sweet popcorn, and reasonably ripe on the palate.
